This scholarship program provides them with the opportunity to attend one course, if awarded by ICISF Staff, to World Congress 17 courses/sessions.
*The scholarships awarded will only cover registration costs and course materials (textbooks) for the one course awarded and does not include any travel or lodging expenses for those traveling to attend the selected training. This scholarship program doesn’t include any Approved Instructor Candidate Program courses.
Financial Assistance
Financial assistance is based on financial need of the applicant, their participation in work or volunteer-based Critical Incident Stress Management resources, and whether the participant has participated in any ICISF courses or Approved Instructor courses in the past. Please make sure to fill out the application in full detail explaining each section.
Scholarship Awards & Criteria
The International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF) awards scholarships on the basis of a comprehensive process. Areas that are reviewed by our staff include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Applicant must be an active ICISF member in good standing for at least 1 month before applying for a scholarship (Refer to Scholarship FAQ’s page for further explanation). By being a member, you are not only supporting ICISF, but it’s a great way to stay up to date with crisis intervention. If you are currently not a member, consider joining our organization.
- Applicant must be involved in an occupation or industry that utilizes the ICISF model of Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) or in a community/provider service in an occupational field that utilizes CISM. We will ask on the application about your occupation and whether or not you volunteer.
- Two Professional Recommendation Letters citing relevance of requested ICISF training to the applicant’s employment or volunteer service. These letters must be on company letterhead. Word documents will not be accepted.
- Financial need of the applicant.
The ICISF applies scholarship funds directly to the selected ICISF training program or World Congress course/session of the recipient’s preferences stated on scholarship application. Scholarships are awarded throughout the year based on the availability of the funds and additional qualifying criteria.
*ICISF Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, color, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation.
